The Journey Continues

The past few months have been a whirlwind of progress and joy as we worked tirelessly to complete the 50 rainwater harvesting systems in Buzaniro Village. When we began this journey in June, we knew the road ahead would be challenging but fulfilling. Now, as we stand on the brink of completing a total of 110 tanks out of our target of 400 for this vital project, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the supporters who have made this possible.

From Foundations to Functionality

Since our last update, significant strides have been made. The tanks have been fully plastered, fitted with windows, and covered with durable tarpaulin and corrugated iron roofing. Gutters have been carefully installed, directing rainwater into the storage tanks, and pumps have been set up to ensure easy access to water. For the first time, families in Buzaniro are enjoying water right at their doorsteps—a transformation that has brought immense relief and hope.

Voices of Change

The impact of this project is palpable. A father of four shared, "I never thought I’d see the day when my children could focus on their education instead of walking miles for water."

The stories we hear are echoes of a community uplifted. School attendance has continued to improve, and villagers report a renewed sense of hope and determination for the future.

Looking Ahead: The Final Phase

With the water systems now operational, our next focus is on installing biosand filters. These filters will ensure that the water collected is not only accessible but also safe for drinking. We aim to complete this final phase by mid-December, ensuring that every household benefits fully from this initiative.

Gratitude for Our Supporters

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our donors, partners, and volunteers. Your contributions have transformed lives and made Buzaniro a beacon of progress. To everyone who has stood with us on this journey, we say thank you from the depths of our hearts.

Join Us in Making a Difference

As we wrap up this phase of the project, we look forward to bringing similar solutions to other communities in need. Together, we can ensure that every family has access to clean water—a basic human right.

Let’s continue to create ripples of change, one village at a time.

With gratitude and hope,

Alphonse Twinamatsiko and Alex Atuheire
